VFP 6 SP3 -- I have experimented installing a VFP app on a
clean Win95 machine that did not have IE at all installed on it. In the Setup wizard, I did check the HTML Help Engine option and did not include any of the required files needed by VFP runtime to implement HTML Help. However, the wizard did include all the appropriate files [checked the INF file created by the wizard].
When you go to run the SETUP to install the app, I still receive the message
IE4 or later is required for HTML Help. If you answer YES, you will terminate the setup. You can safely answer
NO to this question and let the installation process complete. Please get rid of this bogus message, MS!!!!
Windows will restart. Start the VFP app, and voila! HTML Help works!
You should update your development machine, if you have not already, by downloading and installing the
HHUPD.EXE file from MS. The files used by the VFP Setup wizard are in this update.
