I too had this problem, but the was not what the others posted. I was using a BMP file as window background. It was sitting on D:\FPW26\Bail. Without warning or visibility, FoxPro hard coded it as D:. The solution was to move my development to C:\FPW\bail and put the bitmap file on the DOS path somewhere on C:
