Wow. A Puerto Rican saying a Cuban spoke rough Spanish? That's a new one on me. That's like a guy from the Bronx criticizing a midwesterner's accent in English. But a lot of Cuban-Americans speak "Spanglish" which is a patois. For example, my wife says "Voy a lunchar" for "I'm going to lunch" or "Esta cosa muy nice" for "This thing is nice".

>I don't speak Spanish but some who do have told me that Cubans speak the roughest Spanish, and the most incomprehensible to others. "Like a potato in his mouth", one Puerto Rican told me. I wonder if Cuban Americans have created a different accent yet?

>>Rustic? Como un vacquero? LOL...OK! My son (8), who is bilingual (my wife is Cuban), thinks I'm mentally retarded when I speak Spanish.
