Yea but it's easier to say "damn there go my 250 bucks", than it is to say "DAMN!!! there go my 800 bucks".
In other words, there's always something at mid range that will give you good performance without living you broke, If you have to update in a year, who cares, you dindn't spend that much. I paid around a $100.00 USD for my CPU in february, and I don't mind upgrading early next year, will need a new motherboard though..and RDRAM..a larger disk would be nice :), it never ends.
>There is one thing I learned last time I bought a computer: if you decide to wait because there's something coming in a few weeks, you'll wait forever. There is always something new around the corner.

>>I've learned my lesson about buying too soon, by the time the software comes along that can take full advantage of your hardware you'll be able to get it for half the price ... of course there will be a new line of CPU's tempting you to make the same mistake.

>>For now I'm stickin with my overclocked Celeron 300A, and see how long it keeps running at 450 :P, I'll wait for prices to come down.
