Hi Roi,
>No one can judge the performance pitfals to modifiying VFP other than the people who write and test it. We can only guess.
We can do more than guess, we are professionals (I heard they're are some arpund here ;-) and users who pay for a product. If anybody should be making descisions, it should be the well informed public. Sometimes it seems like members of community know more about VFP than the VFP team (don't get Christof started on the VFP kernel or whatever it is he likes to talk about!).
>We don't realize it but most people are terrified of using a computer, afraid they'll break it, it makes them feel inadequate because they can't learn it, etc... We need to do everything we can to overcome that.
Exactly, thats why I say a button labeled "Edit" is more appropriate for a toolbar prompt than any picture you can think of. Honestly show me an image that a new computer user will positivly associate with the word edit faster or as fast as my solution: the word "edit".
I've actually argued with my boss about having images (I wanted them) many times, after meeting some of the users I understand why this approach makes more sense.
I don't understand why when I put my mouse over an IE toolbar button, it has to change color and grow a box, it doesn't do anything but show me my mouse is over button, something I'm already aware of.
