Expect to do a lot of client side scripting and HTML coding. However, the added hassel of developing the front end in IE5 is partially offset by the hassels of maintaining client sites and confiugring DCOM on them when you go with a Windows based front end.

When you say "Windows based front end", you mean VFP or VB etc., right?

IE5 is also Windows-based but requires no maintenance at the client site. Am I following you?

Do you use a framework for the VFP middleware? Perhaps Web Connection or your own creation?

Do you like the sound of a dual-mode approach:

VFP middleware
VFP clients for users on a LAN
IE5 clients for remotes users on the Web

??
