>Hi Ed,
>You're 100 percent correct! PUTM would be cheap at twice the price. I saved in time way more than PUTM membership cost me the first day, by using the search feature. Not to mention the alledged discounts form the vendors( never got one from VPM or Hentzenwerke and VPM ask where I heard about them.) Although today, I've seen roadkill move faster than the current connection speed!!!

Yep, stuff happens - UT would certainly benefit from running on a couple of big multiCPU servers with a T2C straight to the backbone, but it isn't going to happen soon!

Seriously, I look at UT as something at least as valuable to me as public radio, or public television, or the local volunteer fire department. You can get the services without shelling out a penny. Someone has to pay, at some level, and I'm willing to kick in my share; and while maybe I'm being naive, I really think that if more money is available, the hardware and connectivity will improve.

(OK, Michel, now about that fee for celebrity endorsements...)
