Thanks for the help. The problem I have is that there will be an unlimited number of form letters that the users can produce. The idea is to create seperate header and data files. The user will be able to use the header file, which has meaningful, plain english data, to enter the fields into the letter. When run, the merge will pick up the data file. The header files will have standard names like customer and the data file will be given the workstation name so more than one persion can be running the process at one time. I have managed to get all of this working with the exception of the one record data files. I did find that putting a return at the beginning of the data file worked but I get the Word window asking for the field delimiter type. I have looked all through the help files, etc. and can't find any code to allow me to set it. I'm just so close right now. Any thought you might have would be greatly appreciated.
