I generally agree with you (this has been discussed numerous times now, as you know). Forcing an automatic resizing on users is a bad idea, no disagreement there. However, if one has the time and/or user demand, making several different sizings available (and savable) as an option is a good way to go, I think that was the consensus not long ago.

Of course, this is still on my personal wish list, with a fairly low priority for all my apps :)
