Yes, like that. In fact, I was just now able to reproduce it with two modals, one launching another.

Also, another idea - I recall this happening when there was some controlsource not right once. No error, just an unclosable modal sometimes - it never fully instantiated, I think. It was inconsistent, and took quite a while to trace the problem.
