I have a method in a form template class to play a wavfile. It uses the typical SET BELL TO wavfile
followed by &&CHR(7). I have a container object that gets added to a form and displayed on occasion. It has a yellow background and often when the sound file is played, ??CHR(7) is outputting to the screen and changing sections of the background of my container object. It never changes the form or another other object on a form except for this one container. I need to have this container NOT changed in it's display just because I am playing a wav file. Any ideas as to why ??CHR(7) is disrupting this display?

Any other good fast methods for playing a wav file would also be appreciated. I've used mciSendString in WinMM.DLL but it seems to require a wait state before the "PLAY" command will be executed. I need the wav file to execute without a wait state.
