Here in México it's relatively easy to get an Independent "occupational tax", but when one tryies to setup any kind of Incorporation, then the story changes. One must deal with all sort of reglamentations, maintain what may be called a legally office, which can not be your home, unless the "ground reglamentation" (translated form Mexican-2-English) accept it can be, etc... , so making that step, as you said, takes its time.
About intellectual property, i was thinking about software that you can be tempted to distribute over the world using internet. Obviously the branded strategy must be changed, and one must keep in mind that anyone can use your software, the way your software is registrated by users, or how to protect it against pirates, no matter what country they are from (if i understand well, your gonna post something about copyrights). Of course other problems araises too, technical and marketing ones ... Maybe i'm just dreaming loud ...
