Shell.Application is a native component of Windows systems which have the Shell version 4.71 or later components installed on them. This includes Win98 and Win2K natively, and Win95 or WinNT with IE 4 and later installed (the shell is also updated by some Service packs which can be applied to NT and Win95, but to do this particular set of tricks, IE4 or later is a manifest necessity.) Thanks, Ed. Your info here is very helpful. As I told Erik, I got his sample code to run without error once I understood I had to have a newer version of shell32.dll. Now I need to know how to use shell32 from VFP and what I can do with it. Any source of additional info would be greatly appreciated.
