I understand your point, and I wasn't making a blanket statement. The points that Jim made explain my thoughts on the Private/Default DS very well. I, like you, used Default DSes until I ran into a variety of programming situations wherein the Private DS just made more sense. Maybe the type of apps I write are better suited to Private, whereas your apps may be better suited to Default.
