Yes... I know and respect your opinion... but disagree with it. All the arguments I have heard against them are either implentation issues or View Designer issues.

Your correct... in this case he was specifically speaking of @@IDENTITY which is a SQL Server animal... but, to say a DBA won't allow any other technique like this, or that it is not accpetable to use in a SQL Server environment is also not correct. I work WITH DBA's not for them.
