Ed,

>John's behavior hasn't been exemplary, but please don't put us in a position of having to decide who is more valuable to the user community at larger.

I don't... I'm merely asking John to be carefull with future postings.

>John, while controversial, blunt and at times tactless, is every bit the expert and highly qualified person I'd want addressing my problem if I couldn't figure it out myself. Given a choice between John's recent spate of abrasive behavior viewed in the light of his past and probable future contributions to the UT community, I'd want him around, active and vociferous. You don't have to read his messages,

Sadly he has a tendency to jump in one of our messages, so you must be strong to ignore them. Also the number of messages regarding this subject is growing and beginning to irritate me a lot. I'm sure there are others who feel the same.

>and there re enough of us who feel that John's contribution here is invaluable.

Valuable or invaluable ? Sure i can imagine when it comes to Client-server, Ado, VB etc. Johns input *IS* valuable.

>I'd rather no be pushed into a position where I had to vote whether to keep John around or send you packing. I already know what I'd decide.

Well, I know what you'd choose given our recent quarels but this says nothing about the majority of the UT. Given the recent messages about this subject I think I can say that there are many people who find this behaviour unwanted. But this isn't the issue really. I don't want John to leave either, just ask him to be carefull about what to post.

>Some tact and a little relaxation might help John regain his balance.

I'm trying to be as tactfull as I can be. Sorry if I failed...

>If he finds it unpleasant here, there are other places he might be able to participate. I'd want to know where he ended up hanging his hat for those times I get stuck and need a solid mind to bounce a bad idea off, or to gain some insight into technologies that he knows and I don't. YMMV. I feel UT would be poorer for John's absense.

Personally I feel that the UT is getting poorer with this kind of behaviour.
The UT is known for it's excelent suppport and friendly communication between VFP users. I'm not saying John has to leave, but i'm asking to show a little more tact.

>>I don't get it. Everywhere you tend to distract people, start useless threads, insult people or try to get attention. Though you must be knowledgable about many things, I can't figure them out (appart from the Client-server, Ado stuff etc..), I can say the same about you what you did say about Edward, Yet another.... I don't know what game you're playing, but I find this game very doubtfull for someone called a MVP.

>Regardless of MVP status, John is not the only source of annoying and useless threads. EOT.

I'm not sure what you're referring to. If you're reffering to one of my threads, then please tell me which ones. Maybe I've started a few useless in your eyes, but i'm not sure how this compares to the vast majority of the UT. If in the future, you find one of my threads useless, tell me so.......
