>I think we are using Client Access right now. It is a stuggle and always ends up being a them vs. us, us being pc people obviously. I figured out how to get the data out as text and then pop it into VFP. It is easy to manipulate then, but the big problem is then getting it back to an AS 400 form. We have tried before, but the AS400 team either doesn't know how or doesn't want to mess with it. Just wanting to sidestep the whole issue and do it ourselves. Likely won't work like that. An info will make it easier. Have a good turkey day!
At my previous job, all of the client/server development was done using VFP 5.0 and AS/400 thru IBM's Client Access ODBC driver. We had no problems updating AS/400 files through ODBC. You have to learn DB2/400 SQL syntax. Other than that, we just used SQLEXEC() and INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.....no biggie.
