Maybe a truce for a few days, with both JVP and Ed Pikman putting together short position papers demonstrating their approach and its benefits would be a profitable investment in time and effort. A little time off the boards and away from the propane may calm things a bit, you each get to present your side of the issue, present them as documents, and let the UT people see a well-thought-out presentation of both sides, and you can rebut civilly after due deliberations, as can the rest of us lower life forms here on UT... ;->

If nothing else, it'll make fascinating reading to see both sides presented in detail without distractions!
