Here is what I think. VFP was sacrificed in favor of VB. MS knew that the way to go was to make their programming languages OOP oriented.
The thing is that they did'nt know what would be the reaction of their user base. After Changing from FoxPro to VFP some users felt that the learning curve was too steep and MS lost some customers over that OOP move. They also lost some users because of the time it took transforming FoxPro to VFP.
Now after seeing this I don't think that they were interested to try this again with VB. So VB won't have OOP in the near future. They don't want to risk losing VB customers.
