That's weird - I have even tried a few ideas to stop the TL from closing with no READ EVENTS, but am unable to do it outside the vfp environment. The 'Modal' setting doesn't make any difference to a TL...

You may have discovered some odd situation...if you're curious, you can try creating a fresh TL (which you will find closes quickly with no READ EVENTS) and add your code in chunks to see what causes it to stay open...
