Well i guess the error is not absolutely from the .cdx or some other foxpro extension except for .dbf the error message file is not a table. what i am trying to emphasize the word "Not A Table". File fix and validation of database nothing to do about it. Since the header of file was changed.

Try to modify an existing table like pcusers.dbf.

eg. modi comm pcusers.dbf Then insert a single character save the file and use the table you will get a message "Not a table" thats what i mean to say.

The header file was destroyed. try to reverse what you have done before then use again the table. so you can now browse pcusers.dbf
