I remember a big insurance company where i worked in the beginning of this year. The mainframe application (cobol) was still runnning whilst it was build in the early '70's. I don't see any xBase programs still running from the original Dbase era.

Yes? and? I have done some clipper work (three months) at the beginning of the year.Does that say anything about market share? no. There are at this moment a lot of Cobol programmers earning a 6 figure income. Is Cobol a growing market? Hardly...

But let's not argue. I know there is a market for Clipper/FPD consultants. I know there is a market for cobol. And yes, there is a market for VFP too. I only wish for a larger media attention on VFP. It makes life a lot easier woulnd't it?
