I am continually amazed at what the Fox team can accomplish in a very short time frame. Geez..Calvin wrote the VFP 7.0 Intelisense code over his vacation.

>I have trotted out the thesis that if they did it with Fox, they can do it with VB. You and Craig are trotting out opinions, conjecture, and things you have "heard". In the end, it is all here-say. They themselves do not constitute fact. Fox getting OOP in 18 months and becoming VFP is on the other hand, fact. It was done. My contention is that if they did it once, they can do it again.

John,

Where is your evidence that it can be done as easily as you say. You are also trotting out opinion and conjecture. I'm stating facts that people in the know have told me. You admit that you haven't asked the questions. I'm not saying it can't be done. I am saying that people in the know told me it is highly unlikely given the current architecture of the software. This is what I have stated all along.I've also said that if you change the VB kernal, it is, IMO, a version 1.0 product. People will treat it as a 1.0 product. Some will jump ship because of bugs related to a 1.0 product, but it will be a very, very small percentage of the user base. Don't forget how buggy VFP 3.0 was.

My facts have been stated.

>Did I say it would be a slam dunk?? I don't think so.. I am just saying that it can be done. Both you and Craig appear to be attacking that argument with conjecture and heresay...Talking about rewriting the Kernal, etc... That is all a red-herring. I honestly don't know if it would require a re-write. To me, it is a moot point...

If you don't know, then how can rewriting the kernal be a red-herring?
