Proper Etiquette tips in mind found in the UT rules, 99.99% of posting problems and needless conflicts would be resolved. Someone's
recognition status should have minimal or no bearing on your response.
I also second your compliment to Jim. He is truly a gentleman and a scholar.

Personally I don't directly link a MVP to a high expert on any field (there also MVP from who I don't know what their expert field is). There are also others wich have much knowledge on a certain field. So I don't think anything like 'well, the other is rewarded as a MVP so he must be right').
