>I don't think you have to use the NAME clause when calling a form but then why can't I reference my form? If this helps here's how the program flows. Main.prg calls the form mainmenu.scx. Mainmenu is the top level form and is modeless. The click of a button on mainmenu calls response.prg. Response.prg calls the the resphead.scx form. Resphead runs in the top level form and is also modeless. From the debugger watch window mainmenu evaluates to an object. Resphead cannot be evaluated. Why? If I change resphead to modal then it is an object.

Interesting. To be honest, I don't know. It sounds like the variable created when you called RespHead went out of scope, which I would have expected, but I'm not sure the variable referring to oyur main form didn't. Did you declare either of the variables anywhere else?
