>So, how should this affect our postings ? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here. To me a MVP is like you said someone who is awarded for his contribution to the VFP community. Personally I don't directly link a MVP to a high expert on any field (there also MVP from who I don't know what their expert field is). There are also others wich have much knowledge on a certain field. So I don't think anything like 'well, the other is rewarded as a MVP so he must be right').

Walter,

My point is that there should not be any special expectations just because someone is an MVP. The only influence the MVP status should have is, "Hey this person has helped others before". There should not be any expectation that they are bound to assist with the current situation ro that they are somehow superhuman and don't ever screw up.

The simple statement, "I expected more from an MVP" is bogus. One should not expect any more nor any less from an MVP than they do from the public at large. There is no test to pass to achieve MVP status. Even though the criteria refer to accurate answers, the assurance of accuracy is at best difficult to insure and at worst impossible. So it comes down to, a person in nominated (perhaps by themselves), MS reviews the amount of posting they do, a few messages are actually read, and then the dfecision is made to award MVP or not.

There are a number of MVPs that I know of whose accuracy is questionable at best, but their volume is extremely high.
