Cause in some conditions in some applications, the left arrow will unhighlight text and place the cursor at the beginning of the previously highlighted text. Same with right arrow but at the end. E.g. highlighted text in a Word document or the Address box in IE ... or would you say these applications are also handling these special situations programmatically?

I'm not saying either, I'm just explaining how the SelectOnEntry property works in VFP. But I do believe that the absolute worst offender in not following the Windows strandard interface guidelines is Microsoft itself.
