>Mostly because I asked on the MVP group that people not mention to the general public that I was a contractor for MS, but you didn't feel any need to respect that -- but I'm willing to let that go. I hate hanging on to anger, it just makes me worse.

Oh that.... Well, lets be honest tere... It was a secret that you were not trying very hard to keep a secret. You were VERY vocal up on the MVP newsgroups. And to be honest, I did not see you wish to keep it a secret, until you brought it to my attention... So, if you really wanted to keep it a secret, you should have done so......

>>You work for the borg now... You can afford to.....< bg >.

>If anyone out there feels I'm taking that attitude, please trout me. :-)

Nahh... just a joke.... Now, if you where in marketing...well, then it would be another story....< bg >....

>Exactly. Why did he stop? Why are only the most active community members writing? Why can I count the VFP6 books on both hands?

Do you really want me to go here. The publishers, the big houses I mean, are not interested... The fact is, the VFP market is not growing. There is some dillusion up here about that. Nobody up here can face the hard truth... Publishers have a good eye for this stuff....Rod and I are fortunate with Prima. But, I can tell you this. If we were approaching Prima now for the first time, they WOULD NOT take the project on....

>Of course, I never meant to imply they didn't. However, as you pointed out, most of the current crop of books are written by people firmly entrenched in the Fox community. Is this the best thing for us?
>
Nobody outside the VFP community is interested in writing about Fox....

>As far as I know off the top of my head, true, but I'm not sure that's the best example.
>
Then please, give me a better example...

I think you're reading too much into it: it's a general concern over the lack of VFP6 books, and the difficulty of obtaining the existing ones (yours excepted) in the major chain bookstores.
<
It is the market Garrett. Except, you can't say that up here without being labeled a VFP-hater and being negative. It is reality... The VFP market, at best, is holding steady. There is not sufficient growth to warrant publishers taking on VFP books.

Yes, there will be a VFP 7 book from Prima. You are all very welcome!!! Once again, Rod and I had to fight once again. Now THAT is a contribution to the community. I guess that is one of the reasons I feel I can be vocal. Because I make the sacrafice in time to ensure a VFP book is out there....
The Hentzenwerke series I am sure will be updated. I am sure Que will have Menachem update his book as well.

Once again, it is just reality, as hard as it is to take....it is reality...
