When bilingual education was the hot topic here, I heard many Hispanic parents call in to radio talk shows saying that they want their kids to learn English. If they learn Spanish at home also, or somewhere else, that would be fine. But learning to speak & write English would be a priority.

For some reason, the politians don't think the same way. As I stated previously, some have argued that the reason the politians want kids to be taught only in Spanish is to give those same politians more control over what the kids hear and read.
