thanks for responding my post. i don't have the auto-quote but i trust you'll understand.
although i reverted to the usual invoice style data entry, i think your kindness should not be left in the realm of the unrequited.
actually, as i see it first-hand it's not really a flicker. what i saw was that the entry in the last cell in the grid starts to truncate by itself letter by letter until all the data in the grid cell becomes blank. it's as if there's a running substr(myData,x) function looping.
To make this clearer, in the last grid cell, say the data is "Nancy". When the grid is loaded and the user hasn't touched any key yet, what you is is "Nancy", "ancy","ncy","cy","y",and finally blank.
the grid setup is, as i said before, very simple. no dynamic colors. only one table is involved. just the simple stuff. but i think the unusual behaviour starts when the record starts to build up.
i think the bottomline of my question is: Is grid style data entry not advisable especially if the record buildup becomes large because it triggers unpredictable behaviours in the grid cell?
thanks in advance,
Mario R. Buzon
