As for TCP/IP with no network card or modem, I have no idea if this is possible, I have never tried. Why would you need to install a network protocol if you machine will never see a network?
The network issue we took care of already; AFAIC, the only real chance to get a game to run other than the stuff that relies on OpenGL video would be to install NT SP6, IE 5, DirectX 7 in that order and pray alot.
