From Microsoft's DirectX website....

"DirectX 7.0a will be included in the forthcoming release of Microsoft Windows 2000. In the interim, Windows NT users can download Windows Service Pack 5, which includes DirectX 3 for Windows NT 4.0. "

>>>Hi Folks,
>>>
>>>>Seriously, go NT/ Win2K and you'll NEVER look back.
>>>
>>>Well, I got a new computer for Xmas with no OS or anything, so I loaded Windows NT Workstation 4.0.
>>>
>>>Can I load TCP/IP without have a network card or modem? I haven't picked one up yet and NT gives me a dumb wizard and won't let me through. Also, Madden99 and Warcraft2 wont load! Is there a way to get them up?
>>
>>You might want to aim this one at Ed R. NT is not a gaming platform, and I doubt you will have much luck getting your games to run. As for TCP/IP with no network card or modem, I have no idea if this is possible, I have never tried. Why would you need to install a network protocol if you machine will never see a network?
>
>The network issue we took care of already; AFAIC, the only real chance to get a game to run other than the stuff that relies on OpenGL video would be to install NT SP6, IE 5, DirectX 7 in that order and pray alot.
