>Is there a way of re-initalizing network connections in FoxPro 26, or alternativly is there a way to force foxpro to shut down the application after a period of inactivity? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Foxpro 2.6 barely recognizes a network beyond another local drive letter. As far as shutting down the app- if you're looking for something like a timer control, then not directly. You hard-code some time-checks into the program, but that's really not that efficient either.

My suggestions is to update the legacy system using remote views and SQL7 on the NT machine. Then you could establish the connection, query the data and cancel the connection until you update the table. Unfortunately, it might be easier to scrap the whole system and start over. (i've been saying that a lot lately because we're so mired in our old way that doesn't work. To 'fix' it, we're trying to make everything new act like everything old. The logic of this escapes me.)
