I could be off here, (I am talking a little over my head), but I think that the software that the cable modem runs has to support NAT for ICS to work. Some cable modems do, some don't. The Motorola CyberSurfer Wave that Time Warner issues in many cities does NOT support Network Address Translation, and so can't be shared like this.

But software like WinGate and SyGate (sp?) can do the sharing for you.
