>>What are the funny local idioms and sayings in your area?
Where I grew up in rural Alabama, and also in the rural areas of Georgia, you find things like this:
When pushing away from the table after Thanksgiving dinner, you rub your belly and say "I'm 'bout as tight as a tick".
"As a dog" is a good one to use for just about anything bad: "Ah'm as sick as a dawg today." or "You look like a dawg". If referring to the messy house: "This place looks like a dawg pen".
My alltime favorite is very simple: 'nems. (refers to other people -- and them's). "Ah'm goin' up to mama 'nems. I'll be back directly".
