See my other post. First, determine the values of the variables. Then we will know.

Since a named expression and a macro must be handled differently in the guts of VFP, I'm not surprised that there might not be a difference in how expressions might be handled.

Or it might point to a bug in VFP, but we can't know that til we know the expressions values.
