>>That makes two of us, Fred. Now my wife is a whole 'nother story.< g >

>I was pretty cool about the idea that nothing catastrophic would happen, but I stopped at Kroger on the way home Dec.30th, about 11 pm, to pick up some juice and a couple of cases of bottled water (we use those anyway) -- just being prudent, you know? The tuna shelf was completely cleaned out and there were long lines at the checkout.

My worst fear was that I'd run out of beer. So I had plenty. Well...I always try to have plenty ("'Tis better to have more than enough!" - Roger H. Greene, Geo's oldest friend).

My wife had about three gallons of water that she stored in my beer 'fridge (taking up all that precious room:-(). Normally, we've got a lot of can goods anyway (there's always enough stuff for several batches of spaghetti sauce and tuna fish salad.)

She did actually go out and buy a gas grill for outdoor cooking. My gas grill doesn't use a propane tank, it gets it right from the gas line. I stopped her at buying a portable propane space heater. We've got one that can be hooked up to the gas line, but isn't.

>My daughter told me on New Year's day that she was OK with the impending Y2K event UNTIL she saw the 2 cases of water!

Well, I'm glad I didn't know about it, Dave.:-)
