>Let me know what your thoughts are on the new layout and scheme...
JimB and DavidF have already given the same points & responses I would make, and user
configurability would be an awesome enhancement up here! But just for the record, I can live with the existing UI but for one thing - The Calendar selection being directed to upper frame instead of lower frame.
Now here's an aside, this little exercise of yours surprises me John. What do you do when you redesign an existing software app that is called "amateurish"? I would think you pull out the requirements, throw away the original, and start with a fresh slate. Seems to me your taking the UT interface and reorganizing it more so than you are redesigning it. Granted I think your reorganized version does get rid of some of the amateurish look & feel stuff, but if you want to see a whole new spin on what a messageboard interface could be - check out
http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgiThe fledgling vfpguru.com messageboard is using the same underlying messageboard product as this site... but this is a great eye opener as far making a new style of message board where worthwhile content is easy to get at & read, and not-so-worthwhile content is just as easily skipped & avoided.
