Yep. Got it and the others too. Think I'll take a few minutes and create me some shortcuts too.

However, after poking around at MS, couldn't find any specific statements, but references made indicate to me ( and I could be wrong ) that currently the WSH is not directly accessible from IE, primarily due to security. E.g. the web page with the "Press Me" button which fires some WSH script that goes out and does uncomplimentary things to your local hard drive. I haven't looked into it in any depth, but they're starting to push Remote Scripting which may address some of the security related issues but I don't know how it will ultimately work out for local machine issues.

Basically what I'm trying to do is to be able to query certain attributes of the individual accessing the web page such as network ID, machine characteristics, etc. to be used in an Intranet Helpdesk scenario here. I had thought the WSH would be a viable way to get the info I'm after, but I think I'm going to have to rethink this now.

>Believe me, Bill, sometimes I feel exactly the same way. Usually it takes more than one reading of something that Ed has said (especially when talking about the system or hardware achitecture) to even get a glimmer of what he's talking about. However, and I've said this before, if I've got a hardware or network problem, he's the first guy I look for.

Agree on this one. :-)
