I recently started a thread about using WSH in a web page which resulted in the conclusion that ( IMO and maybe other too ) this is not a good idea for security reasons.

I was going to use the WSH in the page to capture information about the users machine from the page to be passed to a VFP COM server and processed in a Helpdesk type scenario. In lieu of using this method, ( and my poking around for hours looking for it ) what would be the preferred method of accomplishing this task within a web page?
