I don't recall the exact session name, but I attended on of Miriam's sessions at the So Cal conference last August. I might have even skipped on of your's to attend her's. I will never make the mistake again.

She covered the topiced so basically, I thought I was back in junior high again. Her articles tend to take the same approach, extremely basic.

For example, I was looking foward to read her article in FPA on the FFC framework. However, she didn't reveal any information that a person couldn't figure out by spending a few hours with the FFC. Markus' book covers it much more extensively, and in a much better format. When a request comes my way that I think might be served by a class in the FFC, I can refer to Markus' book. Miriam's article was a 5 minute read, never to be looked at again.

The folks I sat next to at So Cal during Miriams session, echoed the comments about the basic nature of her sessions.

There are plenty of technical folks with a wide breath of knowledge here. Such as yourself, Ed Rauh, Eric Moore and others. Between you guys I'm sure a magazine that had a range of articles on fitting VFP into other MS technologies could be written. Obviously, its up to the powers at Advisor to realize the direction that software development is taking and move their publications in that direction.

>You can start with Miriam's column... After 6 years, it is pretty worn out. The last one on VB pretty much sums it up. I can't wait for the next installment. The Q an A stuff, I think you can move that online, and devote the page space to another article, something you cannot do online. The January issue has two articles that deal with Assign Methods. Is that really necessary? Data Migration??? How about something on integrating VFP and SQL Server? How about something on VFPCOM? How about something on using VFPCOM to faciliate Async processing in VFP? Unless of course, this is all the stuff that Tamar is getting. Then, I guess you need to publish what you have... Simply put, there are better and more appropriate topics out there. And, that is what folks want. However, when you constrain yourself to only 52 pages, (BTW, Advisor's E-Biz Advisor is 62 pages, so, it is not a model that ALL advisor mags follow), what are you supposed to do...
