Peter,

First of all I'd suggest taking this private or offline. Unless you can cite in your letter where you asserted that FoxPro would be an effective missle shield. *bg*

I really like political discussions but they can get out of hand really quickly and we need to keep that in mind. As was already mentioned, this is an international thread and I'd think that our political discussion confuse the heck out of everyone offshore who's not aware that this is something of a national pastime. *g*

You are obviously excited about having your letter published and that's GREAT!

You don't know whether or not John would listen to you. By asserting that you are talking past him and that doesn't add to communications. It also is a moral judgement about John and I doubt you meant that. It also comes across as condescending and I also don't think you meant that either.

John asked the first question. *g* Answering a question with a question is not answering a question. *bg* I'd bet if you answered his question (offline) he'd be more than happy to respond. I would. You sound defensive and I don't think you are that either.

There are no easy answers to issues as the one mentioned in your letter. Essentially you have many people with good, albeit conflicting approaches, all of whom are convinced that theirs is the best 'solution'. My contribution would be to mention that there are no 'solution', only tradeoffs, and not all of those are going to be 'good.'

Thanks for your time!

Best,

DD
