I believe if you have a robust set of C++ libraries, you could put a front end together in a reasonable amount of time. But you would require a design that you are very sure of. Otherwise, you would get caught up with some very costly experiments. However, if you did succeed at a C++ front-end, that accessed the VFP runtime library directly for database functionality, you could have a lightening fast app.
