My ex-boss had a suggestion; public floggings, in the finest tradition of the Royal Navy. You can make a really nice lash out of some spare EtherNet cable. Or tie them to a chair and make them watch TeleTubbies for 3-4 hours; guarenteed to turn even the strongest-willed super-human into a pathetic, nearly catatonic, quivering mass of protoplasm.
