I changed my strategy from a server-based app to a local client with server-based data (in the interest of UI speed)

The problem is that the exe crashes looking for the data on the local drive. I figured something was being done in the data environment (which i don't use) When i checked the DE, there were two DBFs opened. I removed them because the main program opens (and aliases) the necessary tables. After closing/opening VFP and rebuilding the exe, it still crashes. The main program's table setup routine is explicitly opening LAN-based files.

What else should i do to prevent the error instatiating objects due to assumed path problems?
