Hi Paul,
Yeah, I confirmed it was the driver you mention. I am able to use the driver with a directory of free tables with no porblem. And I am able to use VFP with the "problem" DBC and all of its tables.
OK, I just tried it with another copy of this DBC on a network machine and it does accept the setup. So, there's something it doesn't like about my local copy -- but no hint of what. I'll try copying in the fileset from the network copy and see if the problem goes away. Strange.
