David,
I visited Compuserve for the first time in ages yesterday. I noticed your reply to someone who was comparing AFP to Web Connection. Do you still find CSI useful? I noticed a couple things:
1) There still seemed to be a substantial amount of 2.6 traffic there. The biggest thread I saw was because a developer of a 2.6 package was peeved when someone advised a potential client that his package was developed with out of date and no longer supported tools. He didn't seem to be too interested in learning VFP.
2) There seemed to be much more AFP threads there rather than Web Connection. Christof mentioned somewhere that one of his clients is the developer of AFP. I don't know if thats the reason or not.
3) Discussions in general on Compuserve seem to be behind the times from here. I.E. No threads on ADO. No discussions of XML, DHTML, etc.
I went ahead and cancelled my account. The agent I cancelled thru said that the would set me up for 2 free months of unlimited so I can evaluate V5.0 of their software.
Am I wrong in the evaluation of their technical content, or did I miss something?
