Rick,

I certainly accept what you have to say regarding the potential for high-performance internet services.

But when it comes to MS implying versus you (and other capable folks) "misleading" people like me, I am (in my case) CERTAIN that it is MS which gave me the impressions I had.
They simply made things sound "simple as pie" - as if it was all there in VFP and just waiting to be exploited. As you yourself have testified, it takes much more than just VFP and a bit of Registry updating to deliver a responsive (and efficient) multi-client service.
I am quite happy to give this a shot with VFP, but am in no position to incorporate C and techniques buried in OLE SDKs and Win SDKs in order to do so.

I will visit the Surplus site and look forward to the experience.
And it sounds like you will keep "pushing the envelope", which should ultimately translate into a general reality for this kind of thing for the "average" VFP person.

Cheers,
Jim N
