>I have a question regarding which files should be managed by VSS. I have both the vcx and vct's as well as both the scx and sct's checked in. Is this correct?

Correct.

>With having all of these files managed by VSS I have to check out every file prior to building an executable. If I don't check them out I get a "Cannot update cursor" error.

This will occur if the class/form date differ from the date stored in the project manager or if a .H file is modified. I prefer to keep my files read-write on my disk, so that I don't have the "Cannot update cursor" error. The downside is that I must double-check that I've checked out a file before doing a modification, because it won't be read-only.
