I can't believe you're defending these guys to the level you are.
Their customer service in one word SUCKS. Big Time. There used to be several computer chains here. Most of them closed and CompUSA is now owned by a Mexican company. Why? Because their customer service sucked.
I can understand a company pricing things cause they need to make a buck. But treating customers bad is not excusable at all. I would expect that a salesman would at least tell me he doesn't know instead of making stuff up also.
